Kindle Publishing Secrets - It's Not As Hard As You Think to Publish With Kindle Store

By Okereke Uma

Well I am here to tell you that anyone actually can be a Writer and publisher through Kindle publishing which is a division of Amazon Inc. Yes you heard me right. I am not kidding you.

Kindle publishing is not as hard or as difficult as you think and there are ways you can accomplish the feat and become an Author. Thanks to Amazon, anyone with a little education can upload a manuscript and begin to sell within a matter of days and not months.

Here in this article, I am going to let you in on a few secrets about Kindle book publishing which you did not know about.

Are you ready? Here we go.

1) Your Kindle book does not have to be 100 pages.

Some people have thought of writing books and claiming the prestigious title of being an Author, but have been intimidated by the thought of sitting down and writing pages upon pages of words ultimately running into hundred of pages.

In fact in the world of the old physical book publishing, a book had to be of a certain minimum pages. But thanks to the digital world and Amazon, that restriction does not exist anymore.

A kindle eBook can be any number of pages and people will still buy it.

What people are looking for is the information or solution to a problem. They are looking for information which provides the solution to their problems. The number of pages does not really matter to them. Once you can offer the solution, that is what counts.

And if you can do this in a fewer number of pages, the better for them. Who wants to be reading hundreds of pages online? I personally will not read a book like that. My limit is 50 pages. If you can not give me the needed information in that number of pages, I am afraid I am going to bypass your eBook. This holds true for so many people online.

Your kindle eBook can be 4-10 pages maximum. Can you be able to write a book of that number of pages? I bet you can. Then you can write and publish eBooks on Amazon. Yes you read me right.

2) The pages in Kindle books are quiet smaller than the Microsoft Word page.

Yes I discovered this with my first eBook on Amazon.

The size of the Word Doc which you use while preparing or writing your manuscript is quite different from what appears on the Kindle Reader. If you look at the Kindle reader, you will find that it is quite small.

So a book of twenty Word pages, when you upload and view it on the kindle will be much more than it was originally. This was a pleasant surprise to me.

Imagine you have a book of 30 pages. By the time you upload this to Amazon and it is converted to a Kindle eBook, you can have the same eBook appearing as 40-46 pages in the Kindle Store.

3) You may already have the needed content for your book

If you have been writing some niche contents online (example a Blog or articles), it may be that you already have plenty of materials to make up your Kindle eBook.

Let us take for example someone who has been writing about how to make money online. All you need is to organize some of your past write ups or articles in a logical way and bang, you got a Kindle eBook.

I once organized a series of articles I had on Beauty Tips and titled it appropriately. I published this in Amazon as both a Kindle eBook and a physical book through their former division called - Createspace. That division has now been merged with the Kindle publishing section.

The articles you have previously written, you can even stretch them or add to them just be adding a few images to your eBook. Bang, you have your Kindle eBook.

A word of advice here. Then load your eBook with many images or Amazon will change you much for that. They claim it increases their delivery cost. If this is much, it can eat into your profits. I usually do not use images in my kindle eBooks except where necessary like a Recipes Book.

4) Amazon makes it so easy that anyone can be a Publisher.

Amazon changed the publishing business forever. With Amazon, anyone can upload a manuscript of any length and become published within hours provided the contents are original.

No more stories of being rejected by every publishing company that you sent your manuscript to. I have uploaded eBooks that were approved and placed in the Kindle stores in under 5-10 hours. And some of this eBooks had made sales within a few days later. This was unheard of in the old good days where there was no Kindle or any of the other Readers.

Amazon has rally made it easy for everyone.

Do you know that you do not need to do any special formatting or conversion for your eBooks? You just need to prepare and submit your manuscript as a Word doc, which is the same way you typed in on your PC. If you like, you can also submit your manuscript as a PDF. Personally I submit all my Kindle eBooks as a Word document and let Amazon handle the technical stuffs for me.

Finally, when you have finished your manuscript and you are ready to upload and publish, Amazon made it a simple step by step process that you can follow and submit your manuscript for processing and approval. Kindle eBooks are usually approved and published within 24 hours.

As you have seen from this article, Kindly Publishing is not as difficult as it appears.

I usually say that Kindle publishing is one thing anyone can do online and earn money doing so.

You do not even have to do the writing. They are people in many Freelancing sites that will even write and prepare your Kindle eBooks for a small amount of money. You can get a short eBook written for you at the cost of $20-$30. You will publish this under your name and go on to make hundreds from it. Many people you hear of today as Authors are actually doing exactly this in Amazon.

I think, from this article, you have seen that it is not as difficult or intimidate as you thought, being an Author and publisher in Amazon.

Anyone can be an Author today, thanks to Amazon and her incredible creation - the Kindle Reader.
